The world of Passion Fruit has arrived, the behind the scenes, the 1st impressions, the promo tour, the playlist, the soundtrack…everything needeed to beeing involve in this concept that today 8 of March has a meaning
A year ago, Passion Fruit was an idea, a draft of some words and drawings…and twelve months later it becames a shortmovie that is taking part in different festivals around the world; and it becames possible for the perseverance of young, intelligent, and promising students with visions and unique ideas who aspire to enter the film industry.
That is why this film is subtitled in 16 languages (Albanian, Armenian, Bulgarian, Croatian, English, French, Greek, Georgian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Slovak, Spanish, Turkish, Ukrainian, and Vietnamese) in an attempt to increase awareness about the issues addressed in the short film
People hesitate to speak out against the offenders or abusers because they may feel frightened or misunderstood. In any case, it is not in their social circle. We witnessed and heard about cases such as “La Manada” in Spain, where five men abused one young girl; the cases of footballer Dani Albes, who abused one girl in a dance pub; the story of supermodel Bianca Balti, who was abused in another pub; and in August of 2023, seven men between the ages of 18 and 22 abused a 19-year-old woman in Palermo.These are only a few examples that make the news.
Initially, people believed this form of assault occurred outdoors when older individuals prey on numerous young girls or persons with complex lives… nonetheless, our landscape has altered. These types of violence are rising in the younger generation’s social media content, jokes, and communication styles. A simple gesture may be utilised in numerous ways to entice, seduce, and groom. It seems no one understands the word ‘NO’.
Passion Fruit was developed to honour women and understand their experiences; the creator conducted significant research by perusing several articles, books, and news footage in order to compassionately replicate the scenario in order to connect with the audience and encourage debate.
In addition to entertaining, the film industry, Passion Fruit, provides the ideal platform for educating and inspiring. Presents the opportunity to act and give educational tools to foster a sense of responsibility towards everyone in the society in which we live.
