MÁS QUE PALADRAS [MQP] LIVE FROM PALERMO

For some time now, I have wanted to share the feeling I experienced in Palermo on November 19, after an intense period marked by film shoots as assistant director on Cruce de Caminos by Bárbara Fernández, as production manager on Il peso dell’acqua by Dario Parisi, and the post-production of my new documentary Primo Movimento, which will be released in April next year. I needed to pause and find words for an experience that asked to be named.

Once, a friend told me that it seemed Italy did not want to let me go. And perhaps she was right. My training and my path are being shaped between Spain and Italy, a territory from which I continue to learn through its people, its culture and its opportunities. Perhaps that is why I feel there is still time for me to live here.

From this sense of closeness and affection, XP|30: Il canto frammentato was born. It began as a tribute to Sicilian culture and as a personal response to reading Virità | Femminile singolare – plurale by Giusy Sciacca. The project started with an ambition that exceeded my own resources, and along the way there was a moment when I felt it had drifted away from its essence. When that happens, there are only two options: to let it go, or to return to the origin of what first pushed you to create. I chose the latter.

Post-production then became a space of reconnection with the project’s roots. For months, I immersed myself in editing, learning, music, songwriting, and in building a sonic universe that could give meaning to what I was trying to express. XP|30 ceased to be only a visual or musical work and became a living project, in constant transformation, with a desire to open itself and expand.

I feel deeply proud of not giving up, of continuing even while directing other projects in order to financially sustain this process, and of caring for every detail with conviction and attentiveness.

On November 19, 2025, in Palermo, I was finally able to share a presentation of this journey, continuing the preview that had taken place a year earlier in the city of Pamplona. That presentation became a meeting point between image, body and music, with a single purpose: to give thanks to a land that has given me so much — Sicily.

This project is also a tribute to all the women who have accompanied me along this path: friends, sisters, mothers and mentors such as Maria Francesca Tona and Tamara Sofía Cornejo Cevallos, and above all, my mother and my sister. Without them, this dream would not have been possible.

And thank you for continuing to accompany me wherever this path may lead.
